Writing music for visual media requires a delicate balance. Too much intensity and the viewer is distracted, too little and they are left wanting. The music needs to ebb and flow as the pace of the visuals ebb and flows. Done well it intertwines, connects with and grows the whole. My aim as a composer is to write music that intertwines, connects with and grows your work.

My name is Derek. I'm originally from the UK but after living in many places my family and I are now located in New Mexico, USA. A place of lonely deserts and majestic mountains. An ancient landscape sculptered by wind and water. A meeting place of many cultures and elements. My music has found its way into many TV shows and production libraries. Feel free to contact me.
